American actress, producer, director, activist and businesswoman who played Gabrielle Solis on the ABC television series Desperate Housewives (2004–2012). For her work on the show, she received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy and five Screen Actors Guild Award nominations, winning two.
Longoria’s career began in 1998 when she won the Miss Corpus Christi title and later began competing in talent competitions, which took her to Los Angeles; soon after, she was noticed and signed by a theatrical agent.
