Joan Bennett

Joan Bennett is an American actress who was popular in Hollywood in the 1930s–1950s. She was born into a family of actors: her father, sisters, and daughters also worked in film. Joan began her career in the 1920s as an actress in silent films, but her real popularity came later, when she became one of the leading actresses of film noir, working with director Fritz Lang. Among her famous films are The Woman in the Window and Scarlet Street.
Throughout her career, Bennett has gone through many images, from a blonde girl to a fatal brunette. In the 1960s, she regained popularity, playing the role of Elizabeth Collins Stoddard in the cult television series Dark Shadows.
