Val Kilmer was an American actor, born on December 31, 1959, in Los Angeles, California, USA. He rose to fame in the 1980s thanks to his roles in the films Top Gun (1986), where he played the pilot Iceman, and Real Genius (1985). He later gained critical acclaim for his powerful performances in The Doors (1991), portraying Jim Morrison, and Batman Forever (1995), in which he played Bruce Wayne / Batman.
Kilmer was also remembered for his roles in The Saint, The Ghost and the Darkness, Tombstone, and many others. His acting range encompassed both dramatic and comedic roles.
In the 2010s, he faced serious health issues — throat cancer — and after treatment, he partially lost his voice but continued his creative work. In 2021, the documentary Val, based on his personal video archives, was released.
