Walt Disney (full name Walter Elias Disney) grew up in a large family and from childhood showed an interest in drawing and art.
In his youth, Walt worked as a cartoonist and then began working with animation studios. In 1923, he and his brother Roy founded the animation studio that later became known as The Walt Disney Company. One of the studio’s first successful projects was the character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, but due to legal complications they lost the rights to it.
