Bill Pitt is an American screenwriter, illustrator, and children’s author known for his many years of work at Walt Disney Studios, as well as for his many children’s books.
From an early age, he was fond of drawing and creativity.
In 1937, he began working at the Disney studio as an animator and screenwriter. He participated in the creation of such famous cartoons as Dumbo, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, and others. Pitt was the first employee of the studio to develop and draw storyboards for feature films himself.
In 1964, he left the studio and focused on writing and illustrating children’s books. He wrote more than 30 books, which often depict animals and magical characters, which readers loved.
Bill Pitt passed away on May 11, 2002, in California.
Pitt left a bright mark on animation and children’s literature, his work is still valued for its warmth and originality. Link to biography.
