Ray Charles (real name Ray Charles Robinson) is a legendary American singer, pianist and composer. Despite losing his sight at an early age, his musical talent allowed him to achieve great heights.
Charles is considered a pioneer of soul, skillfully mixing elements of jazz, blues, gospel and rhythm and blues in his music. His work had a significant influence on the development of popular music in the 20th century. Among his most famous songs are “Georgia on My Mind”, “Hit the Road Jack” and “What’d I Say”.
Ray Charles has received numerous awards, including 17 Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is recognized as one of the greatest music icons of all time.
