Václav Havel

Václav Havel is a Czech writer, playwright, dissident and political activist who played a key role in the democratization of Czechoslovakia and the creation of an independent Czech Republic.
Havel was born into a family with rich cultural and intellectual traditions. Due to his bourgeois origin, his family was subjected to repression by the communist regime, so Vaclav was unable to receive a full education and was forced to work in various enterprises.
However, he proved himself to be a talented writer and playwright. His plays, especially absurdist dramas such as The Kafka Session (1965) and One-Act Plays (1963-1968), attracted attention both in Czechoslovakia and abroad.
Since the early 1970s, Havel has become one of the key figures in the Czechoslovak dissident movement. In 1977, he became one of the authors and signatories of Charter 77, a manifesto demanding respect for human rights in Czechoslovakia. For his activism, Havel was repeatedly arrested and imprisoned and spent several years in prison.
In 1989, the Velvet Revolution took place in Czechoslovakia, as a result of which the communist regime fell. In December 1989, Vaclav Havel was elected president of Czechoslovakia. He played an important role in the country’s peaceful transition to democracy and in the division of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993. As a result of this, Havel became the first President of the Czech Republic and held this post until 2003.
After his political career ended, Havel continued to be actively involved in public life, engaged in literary activities and gave lectures around the world. He died on December 18, 2011.
Havel left a deep mark on history as an outstanding writer, humanist and fighter for freedom and democracy. His legacy continues to inspire people around the world. Link to biography.

KARMIC INDICATORS

Karmic indicators help a person become aware of deep-rooted problems that go back to past lives, and begin working on themselves in order to overcome them and improve both this life and, potentially, the next one. Karmic problems should not be understood as punishment for misdeeds and sins, as karma is usually interpreted in the everyday sense. Karma is not retribution, but rather inertia, when a person attracts similar situations from one life to another. From a karmic point of view, every element of the natal chart can be interpreted without exception. However, the most important indicators of karma in the horoscope are retrograde planets, if any, and the Lunar Nodes.

Retrograde Planets

Retrograde planets are always connected with turning back to the past. The more retrograde planets a person has in the horoscope, the stronger their connection with the past. A retrograde planet also points to an unresolved task from a past life, unfinished business, or unrealized abilities. It forces the person to take up again what could not be completed in the past. Retrograde Mercury — Individuality

When Mercury is retrograde in the horoscope, the individual’s conscious mind is able to intercept ideas from the universal consciousness of earlier times. Usually, they are not aware of this, but they are aware that they cannot easily make others understand everything they know. This is partly connected with the inversion of the Mercury symbol, in which the significance of Matter exceeds the significance of Spirit and Soul. This makes the individual concerned with the form of their ideas. And this acts as a barrier to the essence of their knowledge.

In addition, the wavelength of their mind differs slightly from what is accepted in society. Thought processes tend to repeat themselves like an endless recording, and as a result, most of the things they create are, in one form or another, copies of what they have already done. When they speak, it is difficult for them to project the exact telepathic pictures that convey the meanings of their thoughts. Thus, they often feel misunderstood and wonder why others do not always see things the same way they do.

They see themselves as more separate from society than a person with Mercury in direct motion may be. As a result, they desperately try to develop contacts with other people, overemphasizing their ideas until they begin to irritate those around them. Feeling constrained in company, they make great efforts to win the favor of others. Nevertheless, at the slightest hint of rejection, they may give up too easily. Ultimately, they learn that in order to have self-confidence, they must become more detached and impartial than people with Mercury in direct motion. This is often interpreted by others as “coldness,” but it is simply the vibration of retrograde Mercury, which is so obviously disharmonious with the vibrations of direct motion. Behind the apparent wall, this individual is far more sensitive than most people can imagine.

Once the communication barrier has been crossed, tremendous understanding and intuition emanate from retrograde Mercury. The retrograde individual does not fit into the ideas and opinions of the people around them. Instead, they can find peace in gratitude for their unique way of seeing things.

It is interesting to note that many people with musical talent have retrograde Mercury. Perhaps awareness of difficulties with spoken language led them to another form of communication, one that has much greater freedom and many levels of subtle mental and emotional expression.

Retrograde Mercury — Karma

A person with retrograde Mercury must experience unresolved relationship karma. They react to others as if those people symbolize figures from their past. Thus, it is difficult for them to keep the focus of their consciousness on the “here and now.” Usually, this manifests as difficulties with family and relatives. But the issue of relationships extends beyond communication with other people and includes the perception of the universe as a whole. There is often a problem characteristic of retrograde Mercury in terms of seeing what may be called an inverted reality. The individual has difficulty understanding the basic relationship between cause and effect. They explore the essence of life itself, yet often cannot see the simple connections between things, circumstances, and people. Lost in thoughts that lie beyond their understanding, they must learn to be content with the simple things on which life is based. They are so absorbed in uncovering what is beyond their understanding that they almost always miss the obvious.

From a karmic point of view, this individual must learn to focus attention on the reality of the present rather than lose themselves in all the apparent layers they perceive. When they are able to do this, they will be able to establish a solid point of reference in the “here and now,” through which all the discoveries they make can be expressed to the outer world.

Retrograde Mercury in Libra

This is one of the most difficult positions for retrograde Mercury. During Phases I and III, the individual feels out of balance with Libra’s subtle need for centering. During Phase II, when they experience a little of the past together with the present, as well as faint hints that in the future they will return to where they are now, they may be more in harmony with the essential qualities of Libra. Their longer stay in this phase is explained by their strong sense of lack of direction.

They bring into this life the karma of indecision in their thought processes. Close people can hardly understand which opinion they actually support. They do not know where their decisions will lead them. They are always interested in whether the people from their past would approve of the decisions they are making now.

At times, they may be extremely stubborn, and if retrograde Mercury is poorly aspected, even dishonest. They value tact and diplomacy above truth. It is interesting to note that the dictionary definition of the word “tact” is “insincerity.” In the current life, this individual experiences conflict with their parents and, as an adult, does not stop thinking that they must create harmony with them. In fact, they try to do this with everyone they meet. However, they confuse levels of thought and feeling and may be afraid of self-expression. They often think that, by expressing themselves, they will not be accepted by those whose love they want. Retrograde Mercury in the Eighth House

Here, Mercury is strongly stimulated by Plutonian upheavals that bring certain chapters in the individual’s life to a close. They spend a great deal of time in Phase III of the retrograde process, constantly reevaluating the ways in which they have been reborn to higher levels of consciousness. With this position, the individual is an unusually deep thinker, and their thought processes go straight to the core of the essential meaning of human life.

They may often experience sexual problems, because the depth of their thinking constantly makes them examine the value of all physical expression. They never accept answers to their questions on a superficial level, but instead seek to know the fundamental cause of everything that exists. They usually turn away from close relationships with others. And even when they become involved in them, they keep many thoughts to themselves, silently observing the meaning of everything around them.

They bring a legacy of searching into this life, constantly tracing the deepest meanings of everything they perceive. Sometimes they think they are alienated from society, and if their soul is not very developed, they can easily become a product of destructive thoughts. If such thoughts do arise, they may exaggerate them, absorbing similar thoughts from the universal consciousness during Phase III of the retrograde process.

They must learn to transform their vision of the past, including their view of their heritage and origins, into more appropriate forms that combine with constructive actions in the present. Karmically, they regenerate human thinking. They need to learn to listen carefully to the advice they give others, since ultimately it is guidance for themselves as well.

Retrograde Saturn - Individuality

A native with retrograde Saturn takes very seriously the completion of everything they left unfinished in the past.
