Carrie Fisher

American actress, screenwriter and novelist, daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher. She gained fame for playing the role of Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars film saga. Since childhood, she dreamed of following the path of her parents. From the age of 12, she often appeared in Las Vegas with her mother. To get an education, she went to school in Beverly Hills, but soon left it to realize her childhood dream – to become an actress. She made her debut in 1973 in the revival of the Broadway hit Irene, alongside her mother.
The only daughter, Billie Lourd, was born in 1992 from a relationship with Creative Artists agency director and talent agent Brian Lourd.
Fisher has publicly discussed her diagnosis of bipolar disorder and addiction to cocaine and prescription drugs.
On December 23, 2016, Fisher suffered a cardiac arrest during a flight from London to Los Angeles. In June 2017, a pathologists’ report was published indicating that traces of three types of drugs were found in Fisher’s body: cocaine, MDMA and heroin.
In July 2017, she was posthumously nominated for an Emmy for her guest appearance in the British television series Casualty.
