American-born French singer-songwriter, son of American film director Jules Dassin (1911–2008) and Beatrice Launer (1913–2005), a violinist from New York.
On December 26, 1964, Dassin signed with CBS Records, making him the first French singer to sign with an American label. By the early 1970s, Dassin’s songs were at the top of the charts in France, and he became very popular in that country. He was a capable polyglot, recording songs in German, Spanish, Italian and Greek, as well as French and English. One of his most popular songs was “L’Été indien”.
Dassin was married twice; three sons. Dassin died of a heart attack while on vacation in Tahiti. Link to biography.

Retrograde Planets

This is a very lonely position for retrograde Venus. The individual values freedom more than the personal closeness Venus promises.
