Georges Seurat was a French artist and the founder of the pointillism technique, also known as Divisionism. His works made a significant contribution to the development of Post-Impressionism.
Seurat studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he mastered traditional painting techniques. However, he soon began to look for new ways of expression.
Seurat developed a technique for creating images using dots of pure color that merge in the viewer’s eye to create the impression of a complex palette. This technique made it possible to achieve an amazing effect of light and vibration on the canvas.
